Personalized dishes like the French toast allows for someones personality to be showcased. “French toast is a relatively easy dish to make; you only have to make sure to not burn the toast, but other than that, this is a dish to be enjoyed by your loved ones,” Yilia Han (‘26) said. The French toast pictured above meets no boundaries, making it a very popular dish in many restaurants and family breakfasts around the world.

Jared Heuck, a curator at the Raymond Alf Museum of Paleontology, works with Sage Montgomery (‘26) to inject glue into a large femur with a syringe. Heuck employs syringes to improve the structural integrity of specimens by filling in extra cracks with paraloid glue. “Part of my job as a curator is also conservation,” Heuck said. “We have a number of glues that we use depending on the specimen and formation, but the goal is to make sure the specimen is consolidated and secure.”

Garrett Hayakawa (26) edits an audio-based project for his Spanish class in the main hallway of the Old School House. A core part of any language curriculum is developing auditory fluency in the language — as reflected in the AP language curriculum, which includes a 55-minute audio comprehension section accounting for over a quarter of the test score. Set time out the day to dedicate yourself to it, said Garrett, who has been learning Spanish for eight years. Its also good if you meet other people that speak that language fluently, so you can constantly speak to them. Youll get more adapted to [speaking the language] as you go, rather than just seeing it online or watching videos about it.

Alina Li (‘25) and Elaine Tang (‘24) sit in the dining hall early in the morning. Alina holds a cup of tea to warm up her hands before entering the school day ahead. Elaine looks at her schedule on her phone to prepare for the day. However, there are other ways to get awake during the mornings. “I would play some music/podcasts or listen to some random stories to clear my brain and get ready for the day,” Elaine said.

Pictured together in elementary and high school are long-term friends, Lauren Duffy (‘25) and Leia Albornoz (‘25). Knowing one another for most of their lives, they have naturally formed a bond that has continued to this day. “[Keeping a childhood friend is] really a treasure — you have someone to grow alongside with, and they know that piece of you and your history,” said Melanie Bauman, Director of Health and Wellness. “Theyve grown in maybe not the same ways, but at the same rate, or in ways that have been complementary.”

Side by side is Laura Caribe’s (’25) room pictured both before and after it was made. As depicted above, you can see there is a direct relationship between the messiness of your bed and your stress levels. “If I wake up and feel rushed, I just know for the rest of the day I’ll be more anxious,” Laura Caribe (’25) said. It is integral to practice this habit of making your bed to reduce these emotions and develop consistency in your life.

Around Webb are bright colors you might not ever take the time to notice. If you have trouble finding a color that suits you, you might want to look around first. “Color is one of the most integral parts of a film’s composition. Not only can the cinematographer play with color within the lighting, staging and dressing of the set (mise en scène) but also with different colored filters and gels,” said Meagan Macphee, humanities department faculty and Honors Media and Social Change teacher.
