WSC JV Basketball

After a season or two of frosh basketball, or possibly as a freshman, basketball players usually earn a spot on the JV team. While each season these rosters change as their players move up to varsity, the JV basketball team stays competitive and hardworking throughout the winter season. After school, the team has a few hours of free time before their practice to do homework or prepare. Then at five, or sometimes at 7:30 after dinner, they meet at the gym, Coach Michael Dunford schedules loads of conditioning, as well as play run-throughs, and skill development drills.

While on JV, they spend their time either working for a starting spot for the upcoming season or as a stepping stone to prepare for varsity. Starting guard Albert Xu (‘20) says he “[looks] forward to becoming a better player so that [he] will hopefully be ready for varsity in my upcoming year.”
