VWS Water Polo

VWS water polo is comprised of the varsity and junior varsity teams, whose players are interchanged during games and tournaments. This year, there are ten new players on the team who have never had previous exposure to daily afternoons in the pool. Coming off of a league championship, the team was eager to gain these players to create a stronger team. Recently, the team placed 3rd at Claremont Varsity Tournament, and they are anticipating more tournaments in the season. Team captain Mary Davis (’19) said, “I’m really excited for this season. This is the most growth and potential I have seen on the VWS water polo team since I’ve been playing. I’m hoping that we go far.” From playing brutal games to swimming in 60℉ weather, the girls on the team have demonstrated endurance and perseverance at its peak.
