Nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, Webb’s campus provides the perfect geography for runners to run long-distance with its hilly dirt paths and scenic viewpoints. The campus served as the site for the first San Joaquin League meet, where the boys cut through the softball field and ran up the notorious “Mongo” hill. After a month of practices and invitational meets, they dominated the finish line, sweeping the top six in the race. Michael Martinez (‘21) lead the pack at a 20:37.3 finish time, with Frank Hu (‘20), Liam Gerken (‘20), JD O’Donnell (‘20), and Dean Wolfe (‘21) trailing behind respectively. Starting the league season in first place, co-captain Frank said, “We’ve been working hard at practices and invitationals, so everyone should watch out for us when we win the league at the end of the season. State competitions are in the view.”
