Cold shower
Compared to the warmth of your blankets, cold water does not sound like a pleasant way to start the day. However, the cool mist of a shower in the morning is actually proven to be very refreshing for both your body and your mind. Immersing your body in cold water has been shown to increase alertness through various physiological changes. Instead of just jolting yourself awake with a splash of icy water, gently accustom yourself to the temperature by starting off warm and slowly cooling off the water to ensure that heart rate and blood pressure do not increase too quickly. Beyond just waking you up, cold showers are also great for the health of your hair and scalp.
