Cindy Lopez
Cindy Lopez is the first face you see when walking into the Deans’ office. In charge of scheduling meetings with students, acting as the bridge between students and the deans, as well as playing an integral part in planning dean-sanctioned events, Ms. Lopez is hard at work behind the scenes. Originally from the San Fernando Valley, Ms. Lopez has resided in Southern California for most of her life. She was initially drawn to Webb due to attending a boarding school in the past herself. Ms. Lopez describes her job as “exciting and fun,” as she finds it delightful to work with the Deans of Students. When Ms. Lopez is not at Webb, she would ideally like to be in a ceramic studio. She found her passion for pottery in college and has loved creating things from the ground–up since then. If she is not in the studio, she might be chasing her rambunctious goldendoodle, Oliver, down the halls of her apartment complex. Ms. Lopez recently connected on a deeper level with students at the People of Color Conference (POCC). At POCC, Ms. Lopez shared her experience with students while also hearing stories from the students themselves. The opportunity to develop this meaningful connection with them has pushed Ms. Lopez to build more relationships with students at Webb. She acknowledges that students can be overwhelmed when trying to find the right person to talk to about a project or idea, and she would love to be a resource for them. “If you need anything, stop by, and my door is always open,” Ms. Lopez said. “Come on by, have a chat, and I can get to know everyone.”
