Rodolfo Gonzalez
Rodolfo Gonzalez was a Mexican-American poet, boxer, and activist who part of the Chicano Movement. He was born in Denver, Colorado in 1928 during the Depression. He wrote a well-known poem called “I am Joaquin.” and he spoke to many students in the United States about contributing to a social revolution. He had a Denver-based organization called Crusade for Justice, and he convened a National Chicano Liberation Youth Conference for the Mexican American students of the United States to feel more powerful with their Hispanic backgrounds. He wanted to fight against racism and encourage the younger generations to participate in order to make a difference in the society.
