Jaden and Willow: the newest generation of Smiths in the spotlight
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, who recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary, are famous for their roles as actors, dancers, business owners, and songwriters. Now, their two teenagers, Jaden Smith, 19, and Willow Smith, 17, are as well. Jaden was welcomed in the spotlight as a young actor, starring in the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid and the Pursuit of Happyness (2006), with his dad. He then pursued other passions such as rapping, with his debut on Justin Bieber’s song, “Never Say Never,” before branching out on his own and releasing his own popular singles. Most recently, Jaden has taking the fashion industry by storm, modeling for high-end brands like Louis Vuitton and starting his own gender neutral clothing line, “MSFTSrep.” At 10 years old, the youngest Smith released her first single, “Whip My Hair.” While she has voiced her dislike for growing up in the spotlight, Willow embraced the platform built by her parents’ fame and has worked to empower young women through campaigns with major brands such as Chanel. Willow’s next big project will be hosting her new Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk, with her mom and grandmother.
