Megan Mitchell
Megan Mitchell (‘22) competes in off road truck racing and karting on the national level. Although she has only been pursuing this passion for four years, she discovered a natural talent for racing Junior 1 and Junior 2 short-court trophy karts through training in Fontana. Megan has competed just about everywhere in the wild wild west–from the Wild Horse Pass up in Arizona to the Glen Helen Raceway just a twenty minute drive from her hometown of Rancho Cucamonga. Megan’s love of road truck karting stemmed from her lifetime’s worth of experience driving in the desert. “My family has always done off road–whether it is with razors or motorcycles–so I kind of grew up in the dirt. But, since I’m super short and could never fit in anything, I started looking for something my size. My Uncle Mike bought me my first Junior 1 kart, fixed it up, and made it race-ready.” After clinching both first place and Rookie of the Year at the 2018 national championships, Megan is looking to transition into developing stronger endurance to prepare her for long-course desert racing.
