Morgan Kapp, world language department faculty, has had a strong presence in the athletic arena since a very young age. She grew up playing softball and soccer on travel teams. In her junior year of college, Ms. Kapp ignited her long-held passion for bike racing under the influence of her family. The childhood dream became reality when Ms. Kapp “got serious about training and racing” and was invited to train with the National team. Working hard under pressure at the first team camp, Ms. Kapp was the only racer with a fulltime job. Through participating in local and professional races, Ms. Kapp met one of her closest friends during her career. She loves being active and now finds the parallel in coaching cross country and track at Webb. Ms. Kapp believes in female representation in sports and acts as a role model now as a coach by helping athletes learn how to work hard. She continues to write her story, and at the same time, is changing the stories of many young female athletes at Webb.
“We all have a story to tell, and our stories are interesting and need to be heard,” said Ms. Kapp. “No matter what the stories are and who we are, the stories should be out there to increase the visibility of female athletes. The more we show what we are capable of as female athletes, the more changes we can make.”
