One Direction

With the band’s ten-year anniversary on July 23rd, One Direction fans, or as they call themselves “Directioners,” took to TikTok to share any updates and inside details on how the band would be celebrating. In August of 2015, 1D announced that they would be taking an 18-month hiatus to focus on their solo careers. With no word on the band members reuniting after five years, fans speculated that the 10-year anniversary would be the perfect time for members Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik to come together once again. Directioners made videos reminiscing their favorite moments of the band and sharing any clues about a reunion, trying to piece together an explanation as to what would come in July. Even though there was not an in-person reunion, each band member tweeted a thank you message to the fans and a One Direction Memoir website was launched in honor of their anniversary. However, the anniversary celebration did not mean an end to the TikToks, as fans continue to share concert videos and sightings of 1D, with the hope of a 15-year reunion celebration keeping them going.
