Lucy+Liu

Lucy Liu

When you knock on Lucy Liu‘s door in Jones, chances are she is fast asleep, struggling to recover from her jetlag after returning from China. But despite her constant drowsiness, Lucy has a unique knack for stirring up creativity, courage, and unapologetic joy in both herself and others. Her close friends are honored to be a part of Lucy’s playful arguments and regular visits to Chinese saunas despite the painful scrubbing. Meanwhile, Lucy graces the Webb community with her bold decisions, from wearing a horse mask to the Back-to-School Dance to bleaching her hair and brows to look intimidating. Her wardrobe reflects her eccentricity, filled with wonders like heels with golden fangs, spiky sleeves resembling marine creatures’ skin, a mesh top printed with Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” lyrics, and artistic leopard-patterned pajamas perfect for midnight snacking and endless napping. When Lucy stays up late, it is for a good reason, such as binging all 11 seasons of Shameless or watching The Shining at 2 AM alone, with screams echoing in her room. Though Lucy will miss Webb’s lively dorm life as she embarks on her fashion design career at Parsons School of Design, she will bring her explosive creativity to New York City and the world, making art not just commercial brands just like Martin Margiela. After enjoying the fashion scene’s fun and fame, Lucy envisions herself eventually retreating to a quiet village where she can embrace her introverted side, meditate daily, and, of course, indulge in plenty of restful sleep to nurture her infinitely creative mind.

Lucy appears as a courteous and virtuous individual. Still, if you are fortunate enough to get to know her, you will discover that she is this crazy lady who keeps declaring how stupid TikTok is, then returns every time only to blurt out the top ten latest memes.
