Scrambling in an airport with snow swirling outside and layers of comfortable clothing holding her tight, Britney Lu knew she had to stay in Vancouver another day. Of course, a plane ticket mistake had to happen to her. This happened only three months after Britney’s birthday, when she went from not seeing Mickey Mouse, to staring at fish, to getting her phone stolen after a credit card mishap at a karaoke room. From Disneyland to Canada, bad luck seems to follow Britney everywhere she goes. Yet Britney works hard to counteract these unfortunate experiences; instead, she embodies spontaneity. Britney is quick to make friends after moving around since elementary school, and she loves to rant and take photos after events like this year’s controversial Theme Nights. Her ability to make the best out of bad situations makes Britney the ideal honor cabinet member and captain for track and field. Her personality has even influenced those around her, whether taking her friends to dinner after being stuck in Canada or finding the best snacks for the Maid Café for Webb students to enjoy. Her attitude toward life will help her in her studies of Psychology and Child Development at Tufts University, where she wants to gain the knowledge to one day open her own clinic for occupational therapy. So yes, Britney can be unlucky, but she is also caring and resolute. It’s safe to say that every person whom she‘s made an impact on is lucky to have ever met her.
