Catherine Ruyi Chen

If you were to barge into Catherine Ruyi Chen’s dorm, you would most definitely see her playing League of Legends. However, if you wanted to have a heartfelt conversation, she just might put down her game for you. Understanding and kindness are the adjectives that Catherine embodied during her years at Webb. Her friends described her as a “down to earth” person, somebody that is easy to talk to, and a person that will devote her whole attention to you when you need it. At Webb, Catherine’s communication skills made her an excellent admission fellow, always eager to introduce newcomers to Webb. Although Catherine expressed regret at not making many friends during freshman year, her positive attitude and “down-to-earth” personality rendered her a pillar of the community. Aside from being a good communicator, Catherine also excels in art. Not only did she draw her media art classmates and teachers, but she also plays an integral part of the yearbook process, designing the cover for the 2022 to 2023 school year. Her love for her friends, ACGN (Animation, Comic, Game, and Novel), and art is an important part of who she is. As Catherine ventures off to Babson College in the fall, she plans to explore her interests in Marketing. Even though she will miss her teachers and friends at Webb, she will bring her kind and caring personality to Babson’s campus, continuing to warm and love the others around her.
