Wendy+Chang

Wendy Chang

Often going around the dorm feeding her friends ramen at midnight, Wendy Chang is one of the kindest people you will meet at Webb. Wendy is a big sister in the Appleby dorm, always making sure that everyone feels at home. When she is outside the dorm, she is often spotted in the dance studio. As an active participant in the dance program, Wendy often stays later than afternoon activities to practice and help her friends with the choreography. For the past few years, Wendy has also volunteered to choreograph for Webb Idol and has helped Alamo win twice in a row. Her dedication to dance and helping others has made Wendy an undeniable leader in the studio and on stage. Another type of studio Wendy is often seen in is the art studio. Not only has she been an important contributor to Webb’s art program, but she also wishes to use art to help others. Wendy finds art to be extremely helpful in expressing herself as she is able to convey her emotions and thoughts through a canvas. Therefore, she wishes to study the use of art therapy as a psychology and art major at Duke University to help others express themselves through art as well. However, before she heads off to college, Wendy will be taking a gap year to study art history and intern at an art gallery in Italy. As Wendy embarks on the next chapter of her life, Webb will miss the kindness she shows to everyone around her, but it is a comfort to know that she will continue to pass her kindness along to many others in the art galleries in Italy and Duke University.

When I see Wendy, she doesn’t even have to say anything, and my day gets instantaneously better.
