Paikea Sinpatanasakul

Talking to Paikea Sinpatanasakul is like walking through a minefield. The words “raw” or “给 (gěi)” or Imagine Dragons” can set off an explosion of laughter and a shockwave of groans. Hailing from Bangkok, Thailand, Pai arrived at Webb as a sophomore during the height of the pandemic, but soon found a place for herself. She is often found eating in the library or smuggling a sandwich into Mr. Flucker’s art class. However, despite her love for dirty, unrefined humor, Pai enjoys poetry and learning about “old white people” in her favorite class, Modernist Literature. She is a part of Breakfast, Webbs own literary magazine where she loves to not only critique poetry and other peoples’ writing, but also show her own poetic talent and graphic design skills. You can find Pai spending her weekends at 99 Ranch, drinking boba or slurping a bowl of Kitsune Udon. She also harbors a passion for anime, with her favorite being Death Note, and she plays video games including Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, which she likes for the lore and hot characters. Hoping to become a corporate lawyer, Pai will be majoring in Economics at Barnard College, which will hopefully not contain any of the flapping pigeon wings she has an irrational fear of. When asked for advice, she says that people should be more open and understanding. Kindness can go a long way.

There is no fictional character or animal that can capture the sheer impossibility of her existence. I feel like I have a duty to contain her presence and prevent it from spreading.
