Ben+Thien-Ngern

Ben Thien-Ngern

Do not let Ben Thien-Ngern’s 5’6 frame trick you; he is not a freshman! In fact, anytime you need to humble yourself on the tennis court, you should give Ben a call. With his blue tennis bag, Ben has bagged the WSC tennis team tickets to the CIF championship for the past two years. Speedy on the court and witty in Honor Cabinet meetings, Ben leads with distinction and dedication. Behind the scenes, Ben enjoys deep conversations with friends on homework-less nights, as they allow him to get in touch with his philosophical side. He constantly seeks happiness in different forms, for he believes it is the catalyst to living a fulfilling life. Whether it is watching a weekly chapter of One Piece, rooting for the Celtics, or collecting vinyl from his favorite artists, Ben finds joy in being present in the moment. Even when faced with dancing, his ultimate nemesis, during Webb Idol, he was able to pull through and made the most out of the performance with his fellow Holt and Kirkhill residents. In the fall, Ben will be attending University of California, Berkeley, majoring in Cognitive Science, a field that he has recently become fascinated with, and hopes that in five years, he will be able to make revolutionary changes to the community.

Deep down, Ben is a kind and compassionate friend; he is always there to help and willing to complete a task; he always finds possible options to fix a problem; he is also willing to talk to others and just a very extroverted person.
