I got the chance to work on a video game cabinet with my colleagues and peers. I got to know them better in the process. And remember: it’s not a bug… it’s a feature!

16 students leveled-up Fawcett Library and completed a fully-functioning video game cabinet. First stop for inspiration: Blizzard Arena in Burbank. Webbies witnessed an esports spectacle; Seoul Dynasty trounced Los Angeles Valiant, 4-0, in the first match of Stage 2 of the inaugural season of the Overwatch League. The next day, everyone warped over to iam8bit gallery in Echo Park to encounter art inspired by video game imagery and culture. The rest of the course was dedicated to breaking into teams, setting goals, and determining how best to complete the video game cabinet, a project five years in the making.
