Elizabeth Chai

Baking a cake can be as simple as one, two, three! But for Elizabeth Chai, making a cake is another story. Though her baking experience ended with an inedible flour confection, Elizabeth looks back on the fond memory she made with her friends. Rather than the end product, Elizabeth lives for the experience, like how she enjoys planning for a DSP social or traveling on the road with her friends. On campus, she loves going to office hours to chat with her favorite teacher, Mr. Caldwell, instead of actually studying for a math test. She even enjoyed the day of whale watching with her APES class over any other day in the year-long course. Yet Elizabeth also appreciates when a final product is deserving of her praise, such as when her favorite K-pop groups come back with new albums that are immediately added to her playlist or when an Enhypen or August D concert meets all her expectations. Her love for the journey and appreciation for the destination both fuel her desire to pursue Architecture in college where she will be able to build and plan unique designs for architectural masterpieces. As she travels to Washington D.C. to study at George Washington University, Elizabeth will be entering a new stage in her life where she will create plans towards her next goal: adulthood. By then, Elizabeth will trade in flour and milk for pencils and paper to finally make her perfect vision of a cake.

Lizzy loves using the word ‘slay’ and I agree that she also lives by the word as well. It’s always fun to hang out with her, whether it is watching a K-pop concert even though I barely know the artist, or making a freshly learned TikTok dance, she is always fun to hang out with.
