Yoyo Meng

There is a Stanford sticker on the wall of the Grotto. Certainly, no one will know where it came from or why it’s there ten years from now if, that is, it lasts that long. But that sticker, like his stamp on the lives of those around him, is an indelible mark of Yoyo Meng’s presence at Webb. While it might be tempting to also compare Yoyo to the sticker (tenacious and colorful), this would be a gross misrepresentation of his character. And while this story might give a rough approximation of who Yoyo is the kind of person to slap a high-quality Stanford sticker on the wall immediately after receiving it the best word to describe Yoyo is indescribable. His multi-faceted existence eludes description. To some, he is a theatre enthusiast with a love for creative projects and ideas (having participated in the Fall Play, Dance Show, and Spring Musical). Yoyo has created unique art pieces both inside and outside of the performing arts in the form of video games, anime opening adaptations, and creative ARGs (Alternate Reality Games). To others, he is an accomplished student: book smart, knowledgeable, and passionate about everything from Existentialism to Linear Algebra. To all his friends, though, Yoyo is a passionate and deeply caring friend who pours time and energy into everything he does. Yoyo is just one of those people; a walking contradiction, someone you want to know, an aspiring game design major, and above all, someone you never forget.

Save me some waffles.
