Starting pitcher and fourth in the batting lineup Ayan Kaushal (‘24) receives wise words from catcher Mikey Pino (‘26) to help kick off the game with a quick inning. Kaushal, this year’s baseball team captain, communicates with his catcher with confidence and calmness to ensure that all throw calls are understood and the inning goes by smoothly. Relishing all the small moments, Nicolaas Grobler (‘24) captures them all by engaging with different forms of media, from video editing to photography. Aside from this, Nick enjoys skateboarding with friends, listening to artists like Playboi Carti and Tay-K or watching some of his favorite shows like The Office or BoJack Horseman. This past summer, Nick returned to Long Island, New York, where he often returns each year to spend with his family. From working as a busboy to volunteering as a nurse, Nick was staying busy. Whether in front of or behind the camera, he finds a way to capture his passions in the spotlight. His interests in both business from trading stocks and the medical field have inspired him to pursue a future in the biotech business industry. As Nick enters his final year at Webb and in journalism as the Editor of Photography, he hopes to expand the media content he puts out while enjoying his last memories here, one click at a time.  Favorite Song: "Out On Bond" by BabyTron

Ethan Normann, Staff Writer
If you spot a football cutting through the Webb sky, chances are that Ethan Normann (‘25) is nearby. As a quarterback for Webb’s football team, Ethan throws and catches his beloved football almost every day, whether with his friends during lunch time, at practices with teammates, or when playing high-stake games on Faculty Field. Just as Ethan hurls a football to his teammates, he launches himself at experiences and opportunities, embracing them like one might catch a swift, spiraling pass. Ethan credits Ms. Fisher’s American Society class as a “life-changing Webb experience, citing the games and materials as having fueled his growing passion for history. He has also developed a fine taste for all corners of the entertainment world: country and rap music, timeless movies like Forrest Gump, and TV shows like Brooklyn 99. His love for movies and TV shows has sparked an interest in the writers strike, as he hopes to advocate for the writers behind his favorite movies to get compensated. Junior year will be an exciting one for Ethan Normann as he aims for big goals: to make this the best year it can be write more meaningful content for the WCC, and to win even more football games.
