You think you have niche interests and music taste until you meet Kevin Wang. His recommendation for music is Japanese Math Rock, a sub-genre of post-rock. You will find Kevin listening to this genre in the Fawcett Library, recording for KWEB or acting out his head day student prefect duties. Much like the irregular time signatures of math rock, Kevin’s mind is complex and always racing. Even in his free time, Kevin loves insightful conversations, citing his favorite memories at Webb as his Advanced Studies Experimental Literature class and talks with Dr. Tamar Salibian, former Webb humanities faculty. He cites his favorite quote as “you are a combination of people you love,” said by his friend Mirabel Raphael (‘24). On the weekends, Kevin listens to music, plays piano and watches MCChampionship, a Minecraft tournament to recharge. Much like math rock, Kevin is always pushing boundaries. This is true beyond his hobbies and in his academic life. As an academic legend, Kevin’s wise advice is to not stress about anything too much. Kevin will continue to recommend unpopular music, tell people random bits of knowledge, and leave a smile on peoples’ faces as he moves onto Stanford University, majoring in computer science!
