Elaine Tang

Elaine+Tang

If you have ever wondered what type of bird is in that tree near Jameson, just ask Elaine Tang, who has scaled trees to uncover the species of owl that resides there. Elaine embraces the same amount of passion that she has for birds in every aspect of her life as well.  Elaine’s room is a testament to her love for anime and for collecting anime character cards, with her favorite characters displayed all around. On weekends, she enjoys sleeping, drawing, and hanging out with her friends. According to Chloe Wang, Elaine is the best person to go crazy with. The craziness she brings is always so absurd, fun, and satisfying. As all her friends know, her favorite game is Arknights. According to Elaine, it’s a game that mirrors her Webb life with its constant surprises and new experiences when she identifies new species of birds on campus. Elaine will begin her next chapter at Washington University in St. Louis to major in Biology. Her passion for biology was sparked by her interest in birds, especially peacocks. Although she will not miss the academic workload at Webb, she will deeply miss the bonds and friendships she has formed here, as well as the owl outside her window.

She can identify any species of bird in one chirp.
