This Bay Area native isn’t your typical Golden Gate Bridge crosser with aspirations of doing research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the next five years. Sebastian Hazlett, captain of the Webb robotics team, is a very curious spirit. He showed exceptional leadership by learning how to write code for a functioning robot in just two days and successfully taught his teammates to use the robot. His favorite teacher is Dr. Allison Madar due to their extensive conversations in AdvSt Cold War Era, and his favorite class was AdvSt Multivariable Calculus, reflecting his love for math. Sebastian is also a talented singer who undoubtedly slays open mic; his favorite song to sing is “A Horse With No Name” by America. Some of his other favorite things are the quote, “Never attribute to malice what can be sufficiently explained by stupidity,” — which Sebastian lives by — and the TV show Trigun, which is his go-to for relaxation. Looking forward, he is excited to attend Stanford University with a major in Physics and a minor in Computer Science to continue his passion for STEM.
