Austin Berg is all about balance, whether it’s on a skateboard or his intentionally chosen extracurriculars at Webb. Speaking of which, Austin’s track record of involvement at Webb is no small achievement. As a two-year peer advisor, four-year varsity cross-country captain, and three-year member of both the soccer and track teams, Austin has had to learn the importance of finding equilibrium between his social life, academic life, and the activities her participates in outside of the classroom. He wasn’t always the best at this though, as Austin shared that in the past, he has placed a bigger emphasis on one aspect of his life, academic or social, over the other. This shows that finding balance has not always been easy, but after four years at Webb he has gotten the hang of it. No doubt, Austin will take this emphasis on balance with him as he moves on to Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. Although Webb will be missing Austin’s calm presence next year, his words of wisdom are to balance your classes with your social life, and trust in your decision-making skills, will remain a strong legacy for Austin Berg.
