Chances are you have seen Ava Darby dressed in her decorated letterman jacket with a camera in hand, sweeping into boy’s soccer games to capture the perfect goal. Her camera’s flash represents Ava: bright, bold, and memorable. Her passion for both capturing and playing soccer will bring her to Emerson College this fall. Ever since the girls’ soccer CIF championship win in 2022, Ava has been chasing the perfect end credit scene to her soccer career. Along with competing in a division three soccer program, her love for all things filmmaking drives her towards Boston, a city full of talented creators. Acting from a young age, Ava has always loved the camera, filling the screen with her bubbly and bright personality. Everything Ava does, from performing at center stage to playing midfield, she brings her enthusiasm and teamwork. Her two passions will coexist as she enhances her skills with a major in VMA media arts production and minor in writing. Faculty Field will feel empty without Ava running offsides, taking pictures of the colorful sunset.
