With her flowing blonde curls, a radiant smile that lights up a room, and a compassionate nature, Kristine Bisgaard embodies both the physical characteristics and personality of a Danish princess. Growing up in Copenhagen, Denmark, and moving to the Bay Area later in her life, Kristine proudly expresses her European roots with her bubbly energy. Though she remains humble and tends to keep her talent hidden, her creativity shines in her artwork. These intricate, colorful, and textured pencil drawings of various animals can be found on several social media platforms (@idakristinetuxen) and even on the tables at Claremont’s Philz Coffee as postcards. Kristine carries herself with not only the posture but also the true grace of a princess, prioritizing the beauty of her art and the little things in life, from going on Trader Joe’s runs to get her snack necessities, enjoying Yoga & Hiking with her friends, and weekend flights to visit her family. We will miss her princess energy on our campus next year as she ventures off to a new kingdom in Scotland for a semester before returning to Northeastern University in Boston. But wherever she goes next, we know she will bring a crown of light to her new community.
