A caring brother and a dependable member of Webb’s honor council, Erik’s ability to stay afloat in a pool of responsibilities is remarkable. His attitude allows him to push through, even when he or those around him run into rough water. For instance, Erik takes his responsibilities as an honor council member outside of the leadership obligations itself. He is often found to be giving suggestions and advice even after honor council meetings have been hosted, kindly counseling and guiding younger classmates with his own experiences. Erik takes this sense of responsibility into his personal life as well, taking on the weight of an older sibling by cooking delicious steak and answering any Webb-related questions for his brother, Ethan Sun (‘28). However, Erik’s influence serves beyond just his family and friends. As a five-year competitive swimmer, Erik has committed to the swim team all four years of high school, contributing numerous distinguished results, including a legendary League Swimmer of the Year of the 2024 season. His teammates often describe his presence as reassuring and encouraging, motivating them to play hard and have fun. As Erik’s swimming journey continues in Carleton College, he will keep “saving” those around him from drowning in the tides of life.
