Life for Jerry Qiao is like biking downhill. No need to pedal too hard, just trust the slope and enjoy the wind in the process. Born in Hong Kong, China and now exploring the roads of SoCal, Jerry is in constant motion, letting life take him where he needs to be. At Webb, Jerry founded the Webb Bikeshare program and as the president of the Biking Club, He travels through LA County in search of new adventures. He enjoys how biking gives him time to notice things before they fly by, yet allows him to travel efficiently. Jerry’s presence goes beyond his passion for biking. At Webb, he enjoys spending time with special teachers and friends. Sometimes that includes quality time with Poncho, earning the trust of the campus cat who usually runs away at first sight of a human being. In his future endeavors, Jerry plans to study child development at Tufts University. Maybe computer science. Maybe even medicine. Or just a peaceful life in the countryside. Ultimately, it’s about being with those he cares about, trusting that everything will work out eventually. “We all die in the end, so we might as well have fun,” Jerry said. He doesn’t believe his life needs to have one big and deep meaning. For him, the meaning comes from motion and keeping the wheels turning.
