As a mathematics weapon and athletic champion, getting enough sleep is difficult; however, Chris manages to “counter loop” such obstacles like the overwhelming desire to skip class, maintaining a long rally with a calm look on his face and a DHS paddle clutched in his hand. Since the age of three, Chris has deflected all the obstacles in life with just the smack of his paddle, whether that may be solving difficult problems in AMC or playing semi-professionally in China. Even though table tennis is regarded mainly as an individual sport, Chris enjoys sharing his passion with others. As the president of the Table Tennis Club, he hosts tournaments open to everyone at Webb, ensuring that every player has a great time in either learning a new sport or just having fun practicing. Again, Chris is not just a singles player: he enjoys going out with friends to eat at the weekends, creating an end-of-the-year tradition of trying out the spiciest sauces with them. Though life has thrown and will continue throwing top spins or dropshots, Chris has taught us his method of “blocking” those difficulties, regardless of the type of paddle. As Chris continues his academic journey in mathematics at UC Berkely, his presence—especially in the Ruddick Room playing table tennis—will never be forgotten.
