Some people bring the calm with them wherever they go, and Dorothy Ma is one of those rare few. Whether she’s doing a yoga session or hiking the trails behind campus, she’s most at ease when surrounded by friends, moving through life with chill, grounded energy. Her favorite memories at Webb reflect that balance: exploring nature, hiking, listening to music, and working out with her closest friends. As the head day student prefect and lead admission ambassador, Dorothy leads by example, showing up to meetings ready to go and treating everyone with kindness. She brings this same energy to her favorite class bonding events like Homecoming and Theme week, where everyone feels connected and is having fun. Her advice to her freshman self—don’t take things too seriously, talk to more people, and enjoy the Webb experience—exactly what she came to embody. Known for her love of deep conversations, her passion for house music, and her unmatched emotional intelligence, Dorothy has left a powerful impact on Webb. As she heads to the Bay area with an open mind to attend UC Berkeley in the fall, one thing is for sure—the trails ahead will be just as beautiful as the ones she’s already walked.
