If you’ve ever wandered into Soho late at night and caught the scent of doordashed food or the sound of laughter, chances are Chelsea was at the center of it. A quiet but powerful leader, she didn’t just live at Webb—she shaped it. Originally from Shanghai, China, Chelsea spent all four years at Webb turning dorm life into a second home for dozens of students. As head prefect at South Hutch, she planned events, checked in on students, and showed up with consistent care. But Chelsea’s world stretches far beyond dorm life. Every summer, she joins Dr. Farke on peccary trips—digging for fossils in the desert and chasing traces of ancient life baked into stone. Her love of paleontology started at age eight, sparked by a visit to a geological museum in China. That spark never faded. When she’s not unearthing fossils or organizing dorm events, you’d find her on the badminton court. A ten-year veteran of the sport and captain of the badminton team, Chelsea led Webb’s team with equal parts skill and sass—cheering hard, playing harder, and turning practice into a space for joy. Chelsea plans to study Earth Systems Science or Environmental Engineering at Stanford next year and hopes to work on climate preservation and wildlife protection one day.
