The first thing that goes through many people’s minds when they think of Boyang Li is his love of chickens and his studious nature. Always in his dorm room studying or preparing for another test, Boyang has always prioritized his academics since he came to Webb— with the great successes he demonstrates originating from his hard work. Some of his closest friends describe him as a dependable person who is not judgmental and is always willing to listen to what you say. In the Robotics afternoon activity, he is a coder for the Team 359, which has made it to regionals 3 times and is one of the best performing teams in Webb history. Boyang specializes in cleaning up and editing code, and when members of the team see Boyang huddled in a corner with a serious face, they know that the code is in good hands. In Webb’s Water Polo team, he works as one of the most successful goalkeepers at Webb and was a contributing factor to the team’s outstanding performance at CIF. At UCLA, Boyang will continue his personal pursuit of self-improvement and chicken farming. The end goal of all this hard work, he says, is to retire rich and build a chicken farm.
