Max Lan loves all things technology and has demonstrated his prowess of the computer in and out of the classroom. During afternoon activity, he is a coder for the Robotics Team 359, a highly competitive team who has made it to the regionals over three times. Together with Boyang Li, they successfully created the code for an autonomous function for the robot, scoring numerous points and being essential to the team’s high placements at tournaments. Max has also done invaluable work on the robotic arm in the new Charles Huang Innovation Wing, making sure that it runs smoothly for all to enjoy. But he isn’t just good with tech. In school, he particularly enjoyed Honors Spanish 3 with Ms. Nicolosi, where Max is a motivated student who loves to learn not just the language, but its deep and rich culture. During the weekends, he loves to play video games and play table tennis, earning second place in Webb’s annual table tennis tournament. When Max studies at UC Berkley next year, he will be most excited to learn econ and join the table tennis team.
