Harper Stone, Staff Writer
Like the click of a camera shutter, Harper Stone (‘28) seeks to capture little moments of emotion—whether leaping for a volleyball block, scribbling down thoughts in her journal, or embracing seemingly small moments. This summer, she flicked up moments with her family through a trip to Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Chongqing, deepening her connection to her culture. At Webb, Harper channels that same passion for connection as the Social Media Commissioner for student government, planning Theme Week and the Welcome Back Dance in an effort to strengthen school spirit and bring the Webb community together. Her motto for “living in the moment” is reflected in her role on the volleyball team, where she finds purpose in both the intensity of competition and the dynamics of her team, whom she calls “family.” Off the court, Harper loves creative writing, philosophy, and photography: each helping her capture human emotion in both words and images. A fierce advocate for women’s rights and sustainability, she believes that even small actions—like marching protests in L.A. or picking up trash on the beach—can make a difference. Just as photographers tell their stories with cameras, Harper brings energy and perspective to every role she takes on. As a staff writer for the Webb Canyon Chronicle, she hopes to continue capturing the essence of her community and sharing it with others.
