Throughout her eclectic four-year journey, equipped with a ripped pair of hiking boots wrapped in duct tape, Izzy Kim ran on an order of iced latte with oat milk and one pump of vanilla from Cafe 1175. Hailing from San Diego, Webb’s water polo team captain embodies the spirit of this beach city through more than just the surfer bro accents. With salty layered hair, Izzy packs mainly surfer sweatshirts and a seven-foot surfboard for Webb. Izzy also runs on kindness. Exercising the ‘oldest-sister’ in her, Izzy is the undisputed leader of the pack from the pool to South Hutch. Izzy’s leadership is filled with love, an essential theme of her favorite movie, Everything Everywhere All at Once. In a different reality, where Izzy could turn back time, she would tell her younger self to receive compliments and recognize her self-worth. So, when Izzy’s independent adult life comes to fruition, she will look back and cherish the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before binge with her friends, whom she trusts dearly. Kindness prevails, so let Izzy give back to the community by sailing her passion for cognitive science to an ocean full of opportunities at Emory University.
