From her friends on the chessboard to dreaming of opening a wildlife sanctuary, Bella Schnurer’s (‘27) world is a mix ofty. Although she only started playing chess two years ago a light-hearted competition with a friend quickly tran earnest pursuit. Bella's dedication led her to a chess academy, where she trains regularly, determined to achieve a Woman FIDE Master title someday. Today, she balances her time between studying and volunteering at a non-profit chess organization, where she shares her love for the game by teaching others. the pawns, rooks and queens, Bmaintaining shelter for animals in Africa. Wt — always planning her next move. This year, she’s eager to bring her perspective and storytelling skills to the Webb Canyon Chronicle, capturing the interests and passions of her peers through her writing.
