Payton Delgado, Staff Writer
Payton Delgado’s (‘25) for animals has shaped many aspects of her life, from fostering a cat and puppy over the summer to caring for her three dogs: Bowie, Luna, and Leo. Her kind spirit is not only evident in love for animals, but also in her passion for using writing to address social problems. At school, Payton enjoys humanities classes, where she learns to raise awareness important causes such as preventing euthanasia in animal shelters. When she is not reading fantasy novels or watching Love Island in the Appleby lounge, Payton’s compassionate nature drives her to spend time with friends, munching on truffle fries at her favorite restaurant, Crossroads. After spending the summer volunteering at a pet shelter and whale watching, Payton is ready to join the Webb Canyon Chronicle as a senior staff writer, hoping to use her writing skills to attract more readers to the news. With her unique blend of empathy and storytelling, Payton looks forward to making an impact on both her readers and the causes she cares about.
