What classes are you teaching this year? 

I teach IM1 and IM2 for freshmen and sophomore boys and girls.

What has been your favorite dining hall meal so far? 

Probably the noodle bowls. I actually really love the noodle bowls, they are delicious.

What does a typical Saturday look like for you? 

My wife and I exploring California. We have been to a couple baseball games, a concert, and we went down to San Diego to visit a few beaches.

What kind of music do you listen to? 

Oh, everything. My iPod has anything from Phantom of the Opera, Jack Johnson, Metallica, you name it…it’s all on there. Jack Johnson is probably my favorite right now.

Interesting hobby? 

I like making t-shirts. I realized that the other day when I had seven homemade t-shirts.

Examining VWS legacy: Who were the pioneers?
Aaron Yang (‘25) and Luke Smith (‘25) model the current political climate of division in the upcoming election. “The current political climate is quite a firestorm,” Aaron Yang (‘25) said. “While I don’t really follow politics, I can feel the tension even here at Webb sometimes.” Positive feelings between America’s two parties are at an all-time low, reflecting an increasingly divided nation.
The 2024 election and the “culture wars”: where do Webbies stand? — Part One
Jonathan Soe (27’), Rowan Stamires (26’), Mr. Anthony Flucker (Arts/Humanities Teacher), and Natalia Hickox (27’) pose for a picture after a successful escape from The Bridge Between at Quest Tavern. Students can explore three different types of escape rooms throughout the unbounded journey, ranging from fairytales to haunted dinners. Afterwards, students took what they learned in these rooms and buil it into their own for a display on the last day of the unbounded trip.
The Great Escape
In the Liu Chueng Theater, dancers mimic a lion’s movement in costumes together with drums and cymbals performers. The lion dance originated in China 5000 years ago and is believed to bring good fortune to all. “I really enjoyed the lion dance performance,” said Petrina Ong (‘24) “It took me back home where there would be lion dances outside my building.”

Serena Fangary (‘18) has been a part of the Webb Canyon Chronicle since her sophomore year when she joined the team as a staff writer. As Co-Copy editor and Staff Mentor, Serena enjoys writing for different sections, while also being an active contributor to dialogue all over campus. When she isn’t busy writing or editing for the paper, Serena is usually binge-watching Netflix or hanging out with friends. Her other pastimes include hanging with her leopard gecko and reading horoscopes. Around campus, she is an active member in the dorms as a Dorm Counselor and is also part of Chapel Council. As Staff Mentor and Co-Copy editor, Serena is excited for what’s to come from the Webb Canyon Chronicle this year.

    I recognize Mr. Stephen Caddy, he was my grade 7 math teacher. I would love for this message to get to him somehow, I just wanted to let him know that he definitely had a huge impact on who I am and that I just wanted him to know what an amazing teacher he his!
