Meet Stephanie “Steph” Ma ('25), aharmonious force within the Webb Canyon Chronicle and Webb Community. This past summer Steph leisurely sojourned in Korea, where she indulged in delicious street foods such as fish cakes and tteokbokki. She continued her summer melodiouslywith visits to Boston College and NYU’s Clive Davis Institute, where she immersed herself in the world of music, recorded her own songs, and had her soul serenaded by Masie Peterswhile visiting her brother in Canada. Looking through her Spotify, you are sure to find the ballads of Taylor Swift and Joshua Bassett.A talented instrumentalist, she plays a multitude of instruments such as the violin, guitar, and ukulele, yet her compositions extend beyond melodies. At Webb, the humanities strike a chord in her heart, especially classes conducted by Ms. MacPhee. As a maestro of leadership, Steph serves on the VWS Honor Cabinet. When writing for the WCC Steph meticulously pieces togetherarticles, most notably hercompelling piece on theUC strikes.Finishing witha crescendowe can all look forward to seeing Stephthrive during herthird year at Webb, whilewe take delight in her enlightened and empathetic articles duringher second year at the Chronicle.

If you spot a football cutting through the Webb sky, chances are that Ethan Normann (‘25) is nearby. As a quarterback for Webb’s football team, Ethan throws and catches his beloved football almost every day, whether with his friends during lunch time, at practices with teammates, or when playing high-stake games on Faculty Field. Just as Ethan hurls a football to his teammates, he launches himself at experiences and opportunities, embracingthem like one might catch a swift, spiraling pass. Ethan creditsMs. Fisher’s American Society class as a “life-changing Webb experience,” citing the games and materials as having fueledhis growing passion for history.Hehas also developed a fine taste for all corners ofthe entertainment world: country and rap music, timeless movies like Forrest Gump, and TV shows like Brooklyn 99. His love for movies and TV shows has sparked an interest in the writers’ strike, as he hopes toadvocate for the writers behind his favorite movies to get compensated. Junior year will be an exciting one for Ethan Normannas he aims forbig goals: to make this the best year it can be write more meaningful content for the WCC,and to winevenmore football games.
