Whether it’s through the steady rhythm of percussion in the orchestra room or a playlist shared between friends, music has quietly shaped much of Corrina McNevin’s time at Webb. Drawn to hyperpop, alternative music, and artists like Playboi Carti, Panchiko, and Beabadoobee, Corrina found both comfort and confidence in music throughout high school. What began as years of playing piano eventually became something more meaningful at Webb, where orchestra and percussion programs gave her space to explore creativity and self-expression in new ways. Over the past four years, Corrina has embraced experiences she once might have avoided. From joining inter technical theater in her sophomore year to stepping into unfamiliar environments, she learned to approach new opportunities with curiosity rather than fear. Corinna tries things simply because they interest her, whether that means learning a new instrument, working backstage during productions, or opening up socially in ways that once felt intimidating. Outside the classroom, some of Corrina’s favorite moments are the simple ones: driving somewhere with friends, getting milk tea, shopping, or ending the night at a concert. As she prepares to head to Washington for university, she’s most excited for a fresh start, new people, and the chance to continue discovering the interests that helped define her time at Webb and keep the music going.
