If you see someone capturing a moment, it’s probably Jacob Zhang. Whether it’s under Webb’s Thursday Night Lights or through the lens of a camera, Jacob has a quiet way of being everywhere that matters, preserving the energy of a place while fully living in it. Originally from Chino Hills with roots in Shanghai, Jacob’s perspective stretches beyond campus. While summers spent abroad shaped his appreciation for home, his time at Webb taught him something just as valuable: to trust the process. From long, carefree afternoons playing catch on Alamo Lawn to navigating the disappointment of a season-ending injury, Jacob learned to shift his focus rather than lose it. When football was taken off the table, he picked up a camera and found a new way to stay in the game and remain present with the team. Jacob is multi-faceted: equal parts athlete, artist, friend, student, and observer. Whether he’s in the orchestra room, experimenting with percussion and guitar, out with friends grabbing food, or laughing late into the night, Jacob leans into life’s simple moments. At Loyola Marymount University, he’s excited for independence, new connections, and the chance to build something of his own. And wherever he goes next, one thing’s certain: he’ll be there, capturing it all.
