Mandana Mojaverian has spent her four years at Webb building bridges. Growing up in Iran and moving to Claremont, she understands what it means to carry one place with you while learning how to integrate into another. As head of the international student liaison, Mandana helped create International Week, one of her favorite Webb events, turning differences into connections through food, traditions, and celebration. That same instinct for connection appeared throughout her Webb experience. In paleo, Mandana found community through curiosity and patience, while sophomore-year track invitationals brought teammates together through twelve-hour days, exhaustion, and inside jokes. Teachers like Ms. Moore, Mr. Huerta, and Dr. Balisi became the pillars underneath it, offering the support that helped Mandana feel grounded at Webb. Mandana continued to build bridges beyond campus, as her curiosity grew as she hiked around Los Angeles, tried new food with friends, and traveled across the world. Each new place becomes another way to understand people more deeply, an interest she will continue while studying psychology and sociology at Scripps College. Like her favorite line from the novel People of Paper, “From pulp you are and to pulp you shall return,” Mandana’s time at Webb comes full circle; she built bridges by carrying her own story with her and helping others feel proud to share theirs.
