Webb Canyon Chronicle

Brandon Arteaga

Brandon Arteaga, Staff Writer

A torn labrum for some may sound like a painful inconvenience, but for Brandon Arteaga (‘24), the injury was merely a minor obstacle on his way to achieving athletic prowess. Familiar with a tee and bat since age one, Brandon’s experience makes him a star in both the Webb baseball team and the Easton Prime Travel Team, which competes throughout the country. Brandon’s athletic talents also extend to other sports; he can quickly pick up any game and exert his best effort. While Brandon’s love for physical activity plays a key role in his identity, it is not the only factor that defines him. When he is not on the baseball field or basketball court, Brandon enjoys watching documentaries about space and astronomy and exploring fascinating phenomena in our universe. His favorite subject, math, demonstrates this interest in STEM and allows him to apply his athletic resilience to problem-solving. Already familiar with the Webb Canyon Chronicle through his sister and former public editor, Bianca Arteaga (‘22), Brandon hopes to publish articles that are both entertaining and useful to the student body as a new staff writer this year. With his optimism and fortitude in sports, injuries, and beyond, Brandon will surely be an active contributor in the newsroom and the Webb community.
