Taya Sibichenkova, Co-Editor of News

Eating frog legs and hiking up the Appalachian Mountains with no signals, Taya Sibichenkova (‘24) is an adventurous soul. A bold journalist, scientist, environmentalist, and aspiring pilot, she seeks the math of photography, explores brewing kombucha at home, and answers the call to adventure from the troposphere. Taya possesses unique talents such as being especially good at geography and has a secret passion for figure skating. If she's not binging shows like Breaking Bad, Ted Lasso, or exploring psychological thrillers, you will find her practicing volleyball, swimming at the pool, or planning events for the environmental and urban planning club. As a Moscow-born Orange County resident, Taya is heavily invested in the Russian-Ukraine war. Keenly aware that producing independent journalism is a privilege, Taya will continue to shed light on the issue with fearless tenacity as Co-Editor of News of the WCC. With her striking personality, you might be wary of her undeniable edge, but her kind-hearted soul extends a hand to newcomers of the community with honesty and sincerity, for she sees journalism as an adventure of the team.
