As a fashionista, Berklee Antecol (‘25) not only loves the design side of fashion but also the statistics. Although she wants to study economics or business in the future, Berklee also has a fascination with the fashion industry. Her personality is like a vibrant pink fabric in a mix of pastel colors. This gradient is carried through her experiences in the Webb community; wherever you are, she will stand out as a bright glow of energy and positivity. Like a seamstress selecting the right thread for the fabric, she works as an admission ambassador, introducing prospective students into the fabric of the Webb community. Yet Berklee's life is not just bold pink; she can settle into paler, calmer hues of pink as well. She loves to snuggle on the couch and click play on her favorite Netflix show, Gilmore Girls, or listen to calm music like Still Woozy to improve her homework efficiency. This year, as the Editor of Opinion, Berklee wants to jump into a fast-working mindset and to write and publish as many articles as she can. Like sewing haute couture, Berklee is always ready to go with fast quality work.

The infamous flag that sits in the middle of the quad blows viciously in the wind. After the January 2022 windstorm, waking up to high winds had many Webbies stressed. As many Webbies trudged down to class they were met with the sight of the flag blowing everywhere and leaves hurtling at their eyes. “It was very distracting because I had to carry a lot of papers for IPC,” said Michael Albornoz (‘26). “It was bothering me it kept blowing my papers and bending them all over.”

The Honor Cabinet members placed posters all over the dining hall and the tables. The posters read, “Don’t use tech! Try to connect!” to promote conversation. “So many posters were published around campus as a way to launch the initiative in a noticeable way,” said Frannie Hinch (‘25), an Honor Cabinet member. “the main goal of the posters was to remind people that by not using their tech they would form better communities.” This campaign serves to help remind Webbies to have genuine, face-to-face conversations with each other instead of connecting through technology.

Webbies take the now opened passageway to lunch without having to find an alternative strenuous route. “I was excited to see this when I returned to campus,” Jordan McCray (‘24) said. “I can finally use the walkway.” As more students noticed, this magical sight evoked many similar emotions all around.

House of Allan: the intriguing exhibit of Will Allan, Humanities Department Faculty, extensive and unique collection of Webb gear. This exhibit was put up for Alumni Weekend but is here to stay for at least a week. It includes Mr. Allan’s collection of clothes that he has gotten since he became a part of the Webb community in 1992; some pieces are vintage while some are new. T-shirts are an actual artifact so it is exciting to me as a librarian to have shirts from a long period of time that are connected to Mr. Allan, whether that is him as a student, teacher, or as a coach, said Dr. Mark Dzula, Director of Teaching and Learning Resources.

Isamar Theobald (25) stands conflicted holding both her Homecoming dress and Halloween costume. With the upcoming Webb event and Halloweekend celebrations, many Webb students have voiced their thoughts and opinions on the poor planning. The student body not only felt strongly about the planning but also wondered why the theme couldn’t be Halloween related. “I’m bummed out that Hoco falls on Saturday the 28th when it takes away time from my Halloween plans,” Isamar said.

Each dorm is unique, some having single floors, some having two, rooms with balconies, and rooms with entire backyards. As students walk down the steps of Avalon Bardot, many comment on how Webb has stepped it up this year. The venue includes several general resting spaces and a dance floor. The club’s multi-colored, dim lighting adhered to the theme of Moulin Rouge. Students explore the venue, some remarking on the tightness of the space and others just observing their fellow students from the banister.

Kathy Duan (‘25), Dorothy Ma (‘25), Jasmine Beseth (‘25), Saira Bhagat (‘25), and Ella Chin (‘25) take a break from the dance floor after a long night of dancing. They are resting at one of the many comfortable lounge areas around the venue. While posing for the camera they explain how fun yet tiring the dance floor was.

Valeria Gonzalez (23) and her date Ian Hoon (‘23) from Claremont High School get ready for the 360 photobooth. They plan out what poses to do while the camera is set up. Then, they enthusiastically pose while the camera takes in the action.

A group of seniors in a good mood, including Nathan Liu (‘23), Chance Rebish (‘23), Leo Levitin-Shilman (‘23), George Cardenas (‘23), Jacob Arias (‘23), Oma Sukul (‘23), and Francesca Lascano (‘23), hang out on one of the couches. They decided to spend the time relaxing and enjoying each other’s company over partying in the center of the high-energy mosh pit. “Im glad I got to spend one last Homecoming with the people I care about,” said Jacob.

All throughout Homecoming, students gathered on the dance floor, leaving it packed by the end of the night. The DJ plays many songs with strong beats, such as “Sicko Mode” by Travis Scott, “Walk it Talk it” by Migros and Drake, and “God’s Plan” by Drake. With more students moshing, many students comment on the hot temperature and tightness of the mosh pit.

Omji Krishnan (‘26), Anne Meng (‘26), Madeline Robertson (‘26), Emily Shao (‘26), and Isamar Theobald (‘25) sit on a couch and some cushions on the lower level of the venue while the lines for the photobooth and the 360 photobooth stretch around them. They look up and smile at the camera while taking a much needed break from dancing.

After moshing, many students go to the drink bar to cool down; this is an amazing new feature that was not included at 2021 Homecoming. The menu includes three specialty drinks: The Gaul, Citrus Fuzz, and Homecoming. Many students wait in line for drinks, filled with joy as the bartender makes drinks quickly.

The Deans see students having fun at the 360 photobooth and decide to give it a shot. Rick Duque and Sarah Lantz, Deans of Students, and Ken Rosenfeld, Dean of Campus Life, do not disappoint the crowd of students watching them get their video taken. They decide to bring out some dance moves as the 360 photobooth swing around them.

Payton Delgado (‘25) decorates her room to fit her ultimate Pinterest aesthetic. Pinterest boards give Payton inspiration to create her dream room. “I wanted my room to be something that perfectly captured me. Pinterest definitely helped me fulfill that,” Payton said.
